Rosa Hart Theatre

Located in the Lake Charles Civic Center, the Rosa Hart Theatre is home to LCCB and its young performers. The theatre has a special place in the history of Civic Ballet. LCCB’s founder, Lady Leah Lafargue Hathaway, holds the distinct honor of being the last theatre student coached by Rosa Hart, who was instrumental in bringing theatre to our community. She inspired Lady Leah, who eventually incorporated those outstanding lessons from Rosa into her own original ballets, providing “total theatre” through the performances of LCCB. Lady Leah’s theatrical approach to the creation of her ballets was directly impacted by the guidance of Rosa Hart, and it’s success is evidenced by LCCB’s extensive repertoire of truly entertaining and timeless performances. It is a great honor for Lake Charles Civic Ballet to call the Rosa Hart Theatre our home.
