Rutledge and Williams have invited local organizations and nonprofits to hold events and fundraisers there, and often host community events like book talks and live music. “This space is a really great opportunity for folks—locals and guests—to mix and get to know each other and just have great conversations,” said Ann Williams.

Travelers Hotel and The Lofts at the Five and Dime are both located downtown in remodeled historic properties. the Travelers Hotel is equal parts hotel and community hub--a comfortable, eclectic, and modern tribute to the Mississippi Delta and its artistic traditions. The Travelers is run by a cooperative of folks seeking to live creatively--some are local, some were drawn to Clarksdale from afar. The Travelers' cooperative also owns and operates a garden center and general store called Collective Seed & Supply Co. The hotel was developed by the downtown revitalization nonprofit, Coahoma Collective. Coahoma Collective first organized in 2016 as a group of real estate developers, nonprofit professionals, artists, and architects who shared a deep commitment to catalyzing arts-driven, community-inclusive revitalization in downtown Clarksdale.

Located in Indianola’s historic district on scenic Indian Bayou, the Blue Biscuit Bungalow is within easy walking distance of downtown merchants, restaurants, and music clubs. This comfortable poolside bungalow has been a popular B&B for ten years, and prior to the Airbnb age, was available only by word-of-mouth.
