Covington’s Culinary Scene

Can't-miss places to dine

Lucie Monk Carter

When Cliff Bergeron helped create A Taste of Covington, he envisioned the five-day event as an occasion to attract visitors to come and stay in Covington. It would spotlight not only the local arts community during the annual evening of Spring for Art, but also give a boost to area hotels and B&Bs, and restaurants showcasing their delicious cuisine. Here are some of the featured restaurants offering multi-course Vintner Dinners in 2018’s Taste of Covington, but you can sample their world-class fare all year long!

Annadele’s Plantation is one of the jewels of Covington, boasting not only a mouthwatering menu of Creole and French cuisine, but a gorgeous bed and breakfast in a historic plantation. Annadele’s will also be hosting the Champagne Jazz Brunch on Sunday, April 15.

Seiler Bar inside the Columbia Street Tap Room is the perfect choice for those craving seafood, Creole flavors, or just a taste of that classic New Orleans vibe. Complement the mouthwatering menu with a classic cocktail or a house specialty concoction while overlooking the charming courtyard.

Del Porto is a fine-dining hideaway offering a cozy, welcoming ambiance and an unparalleled take on Italian cuisine. Oenophiles will not want to miss their lovingly curated wine list.

Oxlot 9 has Southern charm aplenty, a solid testament to the food and people of the Gulf Coast. This  bistro located in the iconic Southern Hotel touts a “simple yet sophisticated approach to seasonal ingredients” that produces award-winning results.

Meribo takes its name from a mashup of the Italian words for “southern” and “food,” which explains its take on traditional Italian fare with some Southern flair. Pizza lovers rejoice!

Forks & Corks focuses on locally sourcing ingredients while honoring the history of Southern dining, producing rich, delightful dishes and a great wine and cocktail offering.
