Magic on Main’s Holiday World Tour

Magic on Main’s taking a “holiday world tour” through Iberia Parish this Christmas!

Do you “Believe in the Berry”? New Iberians sure do—that's the theme of the town's fortieth annual Christmas parade, which rolls down its historic Main Street on Saturday, December 9. “Da Berry,” as New Iberia is lovingly known, will be filled with family-friendly holiday activities the whole day, including musical performances, crafts, the Very Berry Christmas Quest scavenger hunt, lighting of the city tree, Shop Berry Frozen special offers from local merchants and much more!

But the fun on Saturday doesn't stop at Main Street. Tabasco's “A Taste of Christmas” children’s event on Avery Island is sure to take the chill off a wintery day, with cookie decorating, Santa letters and pictures, a hot chocolate bar, and more. Still looking for a one-of-a-kind gift for that special person? Swing by the stately grounds of Shadows-on-the-Teche for their Holiday Arts and Crafts Fair and peruse unique handmade wares of all shapes and sizes from local artisans.

Iberia Parish’s beautiful historic homes also offer a break from the hustle and bustle of the modern holidays by sharing a peek into Christmas past. New Iberia’s Shadows-on-the-Teche holds its “merry-making” tours of the grand plantation home throughout December, showcasing nineteenth-century festivities and how they compare with today's. The Joseph Jefferson Home on Jefferson Island Rip Van Winkle Gardens will also be bedecked in their seasonal finery all month, offering tours that let you step straight into the Victorian Era.

We know you'll be snapping some memorable photos while you're enjoying all the festivities around town, so why not enter them in the “Savor the Season” photo contest? It's as easy as sharing your pictures on social media with #SavorTheSeason. The winner receives two Iberia VIP passes and a special present! Visit IberiaTravel.com for more details and a complete rundown of holiday events.
