A veritable antique in its own right, Showroom Antiques is closing the door on the circa 1950 Chevrolet showroom (hence the name) that has housed it at the intersection of Highways 61 and 24 in Woodville, Mississippi, for fourteen years, and relocating across the highway to a significantly larger space alongside Treppendahl’s Super Foods. According to manager Diane Broussard, new owners Arlin Dease and Duane Ulkens of St. Francisville, and Wendell Weeden and Steve Cook of Natchez, will expand the number of participating dealers under Showroom’s roof from fourteen to twenty, so antiques hounds should expect a broader and more eclectic variety of antique furniture, objets d’art, paintings, books about Louisiana and Mississippi, porcelain, pottery, and glassware, than ever, when the new location opens in mid-September. Old Hwy 61, Woodville, MS. (601) 888-7868.
