"J.M. White," acrylic watercolor by Stan Routh.
The Country Roads office in Beauregard Town isn’t quite in view of the river, just a few blocks off, but on spring days when the wind does a soft-shoe through the neighborhood’s many floral shrubs and we turn our faces to their perfume, it’s easy to imagine the breeze being the Mississippi’s morning greeting. We’ll throw our office doors open for another reason in coming weeks, as one of dozens of destinations for art lovers across downtown Baton Rouge. Art Flow, the new interactive juried art exhibit from Forum 35 and the Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge, places competing artworks in venues around the area and invites the public to stop in each place to admire and assess. Visit our office (758 St. Charles Street) for a long look at Stan Routh’s “J.M. White” (pictured above, but even better in person). Winners of juried and public will be announced during Ebb & Flow Festival on April 6 & 7 and on view through Baton Rouge Blues Festival on April 13 & 14. artsbr.org/art-flow.
Don't miss: On Friday, March 29, we're just one stop on the Art Flow Preview Party route. Start off at 1010 Nic and come see Stan Routh's "J.M. White" at our office any time between 5 pm and 8 pm. We'll have drinks and good conversation, too. Details here.
