When it comes to memorable dining experiences, the Small Town Chefs awards dinner we’ve got coming for you is just the beginning. In the thirty-plus years Country Roads has spent exploring the cuisine, art, architecture, and landscapes of the River Road region, we’ve discovered some unforgettably atmospheric locations. Many is the time, while touring some ruined plantation home, stately old barn, or deconsecrated country church, we’ve thought to ourselves, “Wouldn’t it be cool to put on a dinner here?” Well, the time for daydreaming is over. The Country Roads Supper Club is coming. This fall we’re excited to present a series of special dining events—a kind of culinary safari that will feature renowned chefs serving sumptuous dinners in non-traditional surroundings around our region. The goal is two-fold: To enable Country Roads readers to experience the cuisine of our finest chefs in settings that would normally be off-limits, and to raise awareness about the unique architectural and historic treasures hidden all around us—if only you know where to look. First dinner is slated for late September. We’ll be announcing details in the coming months. Stay tuned for details.
