A Conjuring and Telling of Black Girl Magic
Southern Rep Theatre 2541 Bayou Road, New Orleans, Louisiana 70119
Women from ages 10 to 70 have been tapped to tell Constance Thompson's story today, or rather a story curated and directed by Thompson speaking to something so much larger: the divinity and femininity of black sisterhood. Spoken word, dance, and song fill the Southern Rep Theatre mainstage for a tale of one group's past and future. Be present at 7:30 pm Thursday–Saturday; 3 pm Sunday. $25–$40. southernrep.com.
