Amite Oyster Festival

A staple of the local economy as well as the local palate, oysters have good reason to be celebrated in Amite. The festivities typically start up with the annual Chili Cook-Off and live music on Friday, followed by a full-day on Saturday of parading, oyster-eating, and two-stepping, with a headlining performance by Rock Show NOLA.
