August: Osage County

Southern Rep Theatre 2541 Bayou Road, New Orleans, Louisiana 70119
For the premiere production of its 33rd season, Southern Rep Theatre presents the professional regional premiere of Tracy Letts' 2008 Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning play, August: Osage County.
Directed by Jason Kirkpatrick, who some may remember as Alek in AMC's The Walking Dead, August: Osage County is a portrait of Midwestern American family disfunction and affection. Brilliantly weaving comedy and tragedy into a story of family reunion, secret-harboring sisters, repressed truths, and a drugged up, venomous matriarch, Letts' script has been raved about across the country for almost a decade. And now it will be brought to life in New Orleans for the very first time by the impressive ensemble of Southern Rep's cast.
Performances will be held September 11–16, 19–22, 26–29, October 2–4, and October 6. 7:30 pm Monday–Saturday; 3 pm Sunday. $25–$50. southernrep.com.
