The First Settlement: Filipinos in Louisiana
to
SoFAB Research Center & Boyd Library 3710 Paris Road, Chalmette, Louisiana 70043
The very first exhibition to be presented in the new SoFAB Research Center and Boyd Library on Nunez's campus is The First Settlement: Filipinos in Louisiana, presented in partnership with the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of the Philippines and the Philippine-Louisiana Historical Society. This exhibition will cover the rich history of Filipinos in Louisiana, and the many impacts the Filipino community has made to Louisiana culture. The location of SoFAB's new research center is quite appropriate for this exhibition, as the original settlement of Filipinos in the U.S. was located just a few miles away from Nunez's campus in St. Bernard, where the center is located. Free. Find more information about the exhibition at southernfood.org.
