New Orleans-based artist Lin Emery is famous for her wind-powered kinetic sculptures, as well as simply for being a pioneering female sculptor and student of the great Russian artist Ossip Zadkine. This exhibit features more than a dozen examples of her work; in addition to recent aluminum pieces inspired by nature, the exhibition also showcases some early bronze static pieces. During the run of this exhibition, Emery’s work will also be on view in an adjoining gallery in the concurrent exhibition Tina Freeman: Artist Spaces.
On opening day, October 7, the museum will offer free admission and a full suite of Play Day activities based on current museum exhibits. hilliardmuseum.org.
