LSU Museum of Art Annual Meeting, Reception, and Gallery Talks
LSU MOA Curatorial Fellow Clarke Brown will Conduct a Gallery Talk Addressing Blurring Boundaries and Mario Moore: Responding to History
LSU Museum of Art 100 Lafayette Street, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70802
The LSU Museum of Art will host its annual meeting plus a gallery reception for the exhibition Blurring Boundaries and Mario Moore: Responding to History. Mario Moore is known for his thought-provoking paintings that respond to history's more problematic moments through a contemporary lens. One feature of the exhibition is Moore's five-by-six-foot collaborative painting with Mark Gibson, "During and After Battle"—which responds to American classical painting traditions and the Civil War. Also included in the exhibition is Gibson's "Battle of Anteitam," which provides another glimpse into Moore's inspiration for "During and After Battle". The reception will include gallery talks with LSU Museum of Art Curatorial Fellow Clarke Brown and Executive Director Daniel Stetson. 5 pm–8 pm. Free. lsumoa.org.
