Tell Me a Story: Country Roads Supper Club
At Laura Plantation
Lucie Monk Carter
In recent years, the Laura Plantation in Vacherie has emerged as one of the regional historical sites that most conscientiously grapples with slavery's legacy. For our May 2018 Supper Club offering, join us as we learn more about the fusion of African cultures that then mingled with Native and European elements to form the celebrated Creole culture. Dinner will be courtesy of Senegalese chef Serigne Mbaye, who will present a menu emphasizing the continuity between West African and Creole cuisines. For more on Laura Plantation, visit lauraplantation.com. For more on Chef Serigne Mbaye, see video here.
$140. Cocktail hour begins at 6 pm; dinner at 7 pm. Tickets available via bontempstix.com. No refunds will be issued after May 5th, 2018.
