Get back to nature this fall with a little help from the green thumbs at All You Need (formerly Southbound Gardens). Their Broadmoor location at 3700 Toledano offers plenty of classes and workshops for gardening and eco enthusiasts of all levels, so don't be afraid to get your hands a little dirty. September offerings include:
- September 2, Fall Garden Prep: Tap into autumn's bounty with this primer on fall gardening, including selecting seeds, starting plants, and other materials on offer at All You Need. 4:30 pm–6 pm, $20.
- September 15, Urban Water Management: Ward off the persistent threat of New Orleans flooding with DIY backyard solutions including barrels, rain gardens, and French drains. As a bonus, you can reuse that rainwater for irrigation. 10:30 am–noon, $20.
- September 22, Fall Nature Excursion: Need a breath of fresh air? Step out of the city for a day with this guided group trek through rural Mississippi. Bolster mind, body, and spirit, with hiking, plant identifications, community building, and more. 10 am–6 pm in Lumberton, MS. $45, lunch provided.
