Whooping Crane Art Show & Contest
to
Dept of Wildlife and Fisheries Headquarters 2000 Quail Drive, Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Over sixty Louisiana artists have put brush to canvas to celebrate successful conservation efforts to save the state's critically endangered Whooping Crane population. The exhibit, hosted by Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Foundation and Raising Cane's, provides inspiration and hopefulness about the return of the birds to the Bayou State—which today number eighty-one, up from zero in 1950 thanks to concerted reintroduction efforts. Artwork by over fifty East Baton Rouge Parish students will also be displayed. The top three winning artists will receive cash awards, as well as a trip to watch the release of 2024's young cranes into the wild. lawff.org/whoopingcraneshow.
