World Leprosy Day Lecture

Annually observed on January 26, World Leprosy Day was established to raise awareness for Hansen's Disease. This evening, John Figarola, who serves as the director of Rehabilitation and Education Services of the National Hansen's Disease Program in Baton Rouge, will lead a discussion on the history of the nation's first leprosy hospital on the grounds of the Indian Camp Plantation in Carville. In conjunction, the library's Special Collections Department will also host a special Leprosy Day exhibit. 7 pm. Free. ebrpl.com.
