Cary Saurage Community Arts Center 233 Saint Ferdinand, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70802
As part of its Writers Workshop Series, the Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge is hosting a Creative Aging Writers Workshop this spring focused on writing about important social issues in styles ranging from poetry to nonfiction. Author Rannah Gray will lead the workshop series with the goal of participants exploring issues they are passionate about related to social change, like crime, to better understand causes and potential solutions—other guest speakers will range from FBI agents to local experts. The six-week series for those age fifty-five and older starts February 4 at the East Baton Rouge Parish Main Library, 7711 Goodwood Blvd. Sessions are from 10 am—1:15 pm, with a fifteen-minute break at 11:30 am. $50.
