For the fourth year running, the East Baton Rouge Parish Library (EBRPL) system been presented with the Library Journal’s America’s Star Libraries Award, and this year it’s the only library in the state to receive the 5-Star rating (up from three last year), a designation earned by only eighty-five library systems nationwide, or 1.1 percent of more than seven thousand public libraries scored for the award. To identify award recipients, the Library Journal uses four measures: circulation, library visits, program attendance, and public Internet computer use. This year EBRPL stood out for offering local patrons some of the best library resources, collections, archives, technology, and databases available.
