Acadian Culture Day
Explore how an Acadian community preserves its heritage
Vermilionville 300 Fisher Road, Lafayette, Louisiana 70508
Every year, Vermilionville invites the community to celebrate its annual Acadian Culture Day to explore how the Acadian community maintains its heritage. This year, the theme is "Where We Came From," and the activities planned for the day will include community booths, boat tours and canoeing, a sharing circle on the birth of Acadian culture, film screenings, cultural demonstrations (including trapping, muskets, fiddlemaking, and more), cooking demos, kids’ crafts, and games. What would a Cajun gathering be without music? Not much of one... Look forward to the Huval Dupuy Fuselier Band and Paul Daigle & Cajun Gold, plus a Cajun jam open to all skill levels. 10 am–5 pm. Free. vermilionville.org.
