Friday, October 18 at 8:30 pm and Saturday, October 19 at 5:30 pm on Art Rocks! (episode #705), meet Baton Rouge artist Rosemary Goodell, who is inspired by the patterns and asymmetrical balance of Japanese art. She tells us about making the transition from painting to creating monoprints and the visual aesthetic that enables her to excel at both. Next, we take you to Reno, Nevada to experience the aerial artistry, fire arts, and night circus bohemianism of the Siren Society. Hear how violinist Lucia Micarelli recovered from a career-threatening accident in Italy to achieve glittering success. Plus, spoken word artist and writer Ka Vang discusses keeping her native Hmong culture alive.
Hosted by James Fox-Smith of Country Roads Magazine, Art Rocks! is LPB’s weekly series that spotlights artists, performance, culture, literature, history and the impact of art in our world.
